What is your favorite question?
What is the most common question you are asked? What is the most difficult question to answer? What funny questions have you received? I get asked those three questions all the time. Recently I was asked a question I don’t recall ever having been asked before: “What is your favorite question?”
I didn’t have an answer right away. I am, to a certain extent, still deliberating.
I can tell you that my favorite type of question is anything that is directly related to the gospel.
It is exciting when we receive a question from someone who is seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ. We receive a lot of questions about fairly insignificant topics. There are numerous people for whom we have answered hundreds of questions, with none of them gospel related. While we include a link to a gospel presentation with every answer, and while every page on GotQuestions.org contains at least two links to articles that present the gospel, the vast majority of the questions we receive are not directly related to the gospel.
I also really like questions that are along the lines of “Why should I care…?” Helping people to understand how God’s truth impacts their lives personally and practically is more enjoyable than giving an information download or discussing theological nuances.
So, what is my favorite question?
I’d have to say: Is Jesus the only way of salvation?
Why that question? For numerous reasons: (1) It is directly related to the gospel. (2) It provides an opportunity to explain who Jesus is and why He matters. (3) It is controversial enough to capture attention. (4) The Bible provides an explicit answer (John 14:6; Acts 4:12).
In case you are wondering, the answer to the question is “Yes!” Read more here: https://www.gotquestions.org/Jesus-only-way.html
